Lafrowda Festival in St. Just Cornwall! At the end of the procession the men marched straight into the pub with their drums. It was quite the entrance!! A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 22, 2018 at 2:00am PDT

Today I hiked along the coast on the public foot paths along the Cornwall hedges. There were some Neolithic structures along the way too! A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 20, 2018 at 2:49pm PDT

The Mediterranean biome was my favorite!! (that’s also probably because it’s my favorite climate.) I saw plants from the Mediterranean, California, South Africa, and Western Australia. I was blown away by the Australian plants - I don’t think I had ever seen plants like that before! (They are the red/yellow/orange pallets of colors in the pictures.) #edenproject A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 18, 2018 at 3:40pm PDT

The Rainforest biome was super fun! I saw plants from the tropical islands, Southeast Asia, west Africa, and tropical South America. I once tried to raise a tropical plant not realizing it was tropical... it died since it was way too dry this past winter... I would often bring the plant in the bathroom when I showered to help it out a little (humidity). Sadly, that just didn’t cut it for my poor plant. BUT I saw the same kind of plant in this biome and I’m happy places like this exist where the plants can grow peacefully. #edenproject A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 18, 2018 at 3:25pm PDT

I’m at the Eden Project in Cornwall! They turned a clay pit/mine into a garden paradise. It has several biomes (outdoor, Mediterranean, and rainforest). Two of them are in domes. Lots of sustainability research happens here in addition to designing potential “space” biomes to set up on Mars. A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 18, 2018 at 6:02am PDT

Made it to Cornwall and was able to take a walk along the cliffs before calling it a night. I’m excited to explore more of this countryside! A post shared by Amanda (@amandagetslost) on Jul 17, 2018 at 1:56pm PDT
