View this post on Instagram Aarti Ceremony in Varanasi. This devotional ceremony is performed every day at dusk and uses fire, incense, bells, and chanting as an offering to the Goddess Ganga (goddess of the holiest rivers in India). Pictures don’t even begin to capture the experience - it’s for all 5 senses. My favorite part was sitting in the boats with others - there was a tea guy who would hope from boat to boat selling tea. Like most things in India, this is an incredibly community based experience. A post shared by Amanda Hochstatter (@ms.hochstatter) on Jul 26, 2019 at 7:29pm PDT
