View this post on Instagram I went to a Sikh temple today. (Pronounced “sick”). Only 1.8% of the population in India is Sikh. They welcome everyone - all castes, religions, gender. We toured their temple - tossed water in our covered heads, helped them make food and ate with them on the floor. They eat on the floor together because it doesn’t discriminate against anyone and everyone is equal. I liked that. The temple also always has someone singing in it from 3am-9pm the time that the book is out. When the book is put away they stop singing. #fulbrightteach A post shared by Amanda Hochstatter (@ms.hochstatter) on Jul 3, 2019 at 10:47am PDT
